My path into counseling
My Experience
My path into counseling began in 1991, while learning to climb in Yosemite. Inspired while moving with fear and pushing past self-imposed limits, I found a deep calling to help others navigate life’s challenges with strategy, self-compassion, and purpose.
WITH OVER TWO DECADES OF EXPERIENCE, I AM HERE TO SUPORT YOUR MENTAL HEALTH
I’ve been a counselor for over 25 years, with a background that blends clinical expertise and real-world experience.
My path into counseling began in 1991, while learning to climb in Yosemite. Inspired while moving with fear and pushing past self-imposed limits, I found a deep calling to help others navigate life’s challenges with strategy, self-compassion, and purpose.
Over the years, I’ve worked in hospitals, residential treatment centers, and outpatient settings, supporting people facing a spectrum of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. For over a decade, I led and provided oversight for experiential therapy programs designed to deepen insight and healing. My approach has often included integrating counseling with activities such as rock climbing, hiking, snow sports, challenge courses, equine therapy, yoga, photography, and literary pieces.
Although I no longer offer adventure-based sessions, I still believe in the healing power of movement and the value of learning through experience. Today, I bring an experiential mindset into my work with clients who are ready to explore, grow, and build lasting change.
